In many of my photos I try to impart a "painterly" feeling to the image. I don't know where this desire comes from, as I've never been a painter, nor have I been trained in the arts. It just feels right I guess. This is one of those postcard scenics that I was determined to capture on our most recent visit to Jackson Hole. This particular morning we were up well before dawn, only to be greeted by completely overcast skies. We arrived at the predetermined spot (having scouted in the dark the night before). Three serendipitous events transpired: the sun broke through at sunrise to reveal a dramatic landscape, a rainbow appeared, and we encountered a fellow photographer from Georgia, that gave me the idea to print inkjet prints on watercolor paper.
