This is a rather cliche perspective of Cruz Bay in St. John, but I couldn't resist because it is a lovely scene, and I knew I could record it with technical excellence, if not with a high degree of originality. Shooting postcard views is often a great point of departure for me when visiting an unfamiliar locale, and allows me to get my photographic feet wet and move on to more creatively fulfilling subjects and perspectives.
