Reaching this vista is possible from one direction only: a one-way road up the mountain from the Cade's Cove area of Great Smoky Mts. NP. The most convenient time to make this sidetrip is early in the morning ahead of the masses. I'd venture to guess there aren't too many places in the country where such an isolated structure can be so prominently viewed as in this scene of the old church in Cade's Cove.
