Another Live Oak framing Drayton Hall from the northwest corner of the grounds.

Drayton Hall is not only one of the finest surviving colonial houses in America, it is in fact the earliest such house to come down to us unrestored. Better still, it is open to the public -- sensitively maintained as well as interpreted by an architecturally and historically knowledgeable staff. It is truly a colonial American treasure, and I can think of few buildings more worthy of investments by scholars, preservation activists, and donors.--Camille Wells, architectural historian
