I could not resist recording this old feller's face at a small county fair in rural Loudoun County. This picture was originally shot in color, but like many of my photos with a vintage flair, I opted to transform it into a more-nostalgic, sepia-toned record. I chose to shoot with a telephoto lens (and large aperture) for two reasons: to blur the background, and to avoid "invading his personal space". I'd love to do a thorough study of this character with a large-format camera and black & white film.
