I'm not sure what is so charming to me about this image. There seems to be some great irony suggested by the juxtaposition (ding ding ding--that's 3 points for a 5-syllable word!) of the "great future" of the youngsters, and the bleak promise of the sign. In any case, I was feeling some emotion along these lines when I composed this scene beside my brother's house in Traverse City, MI. Once again, my nieces Emily and Chelsea, and nephew Eric were great sports amusing themselves while I snapped away.
