Dave is a very photogenic man that has been gracious enough to model for me on a number of occasions. My stock agent is always requesting images of minorities in an infinite number of scenarios. I feel that the elements in this composition work together to convey meaning: the "tree of knowledge", the "brightness" of the light, the "book of wonder", and, of course, an attractive African-American man relaxing by reading. I had Dave hold the bright pages of the book just right so that light was bounced back up onto his face.
