This picture was framed in the center of bustling Pioneer Square in downtown Seattle. I chose to isolate a small portion of the totem with the flowers to totally remove the subject from its surroundings. Instead, the sense of place is more Polynesian than Pacific Northwest. However, the totem is distinctly northwest.
