This dawn silhouette of the Washington Monument and reflecting pool was used for one of those inspirational posters for a national association. The subject was intentionally offset left of center to allow room for the associated message. Hard to really judge from the photo, but it was very chilly on this winter morning, as can be seen by the ice on the pool. Note the gradation of color in the dawn sky that is difficult to perceive with the naked eye. Film, however renders the change rather vividly.
