On Easter morning a few years ago, I set out before dawn to photograph a most familiar site--the US Capitol. Had I known the light-spectacle that would greet me, I'd have brought a view camera with me. The series of images I recorded in the span of about five minutes are some of my favorites that I've seen of this prominent landmark. I love the pastel colors and softness of this frame; one would never suspect from the tranquility of this image the kind of nonsense emanated over the past year! Looks can be deceiving, and cameras do lie!
