Trail Ridge Road is one of the highest paved roads in the country, and offers sublime vistas along its lengths. This photo began as a color creation, but I was disappointed by the color balance and was intent on emphasizing the thruway as it snaked across the barren landscape. I shot the image from an angle that would emphasize the reflection of the sun off the descending ribbon of asphalt.
