Views of the sunset from above the pier were breathtaking, but a brisk walk down below revealed an equally stellar scene. I decided on a monochromatic (single color) depiction of this scene over the multi-hued original, simply to emphasize the strong graphic nature of the black pillars against the sky, and the reflections of the same. The little black specks in the background are hearty surfers in the 60 degree water.
