Floating Puddle and Telescope Peak Badwater Death Valley National Monument CA |
|
Morning vista and reflection of Telescope Peak of the Panamint Range, as seen looking west from Badwater, Death Valley National Monument. Folks enjoy trying to make sense of this abstracted composition of an otherwise standard mountain vista. The foreground object is simply a remnant puddle from some rain in Death Valley. The puddle appears to be floating in the foreground because I have allowed the shadowed area in which it sits and the slope just behind it to go completely black. At 282 feet below sea level, Badwater is the lowest point in the Western Hemisphere.
