This Catholic church was a primary photo destination of our visit to the vast red-rock country around Sedona. Rising 200 feet from the ground, it was designed by Marguerite Brunswig Staude, who was a student of Frank Lloyd Wright, and construction was finished in 1956. It's a stunning example of nature-influenced architecture and is worth a visit. The clouds for the most part cooperated, but required a bit of assistance in Photoshop.
You can get to the Chapel of the Holy Cross from Sedona by taking State Route 179 south to Chapel Road. Then take Chapel Road up to the structure. It is approximately two miles south of Sedona
