The "White Dove of the Desert" is a magnificent structure seemingly rising out of the desert a few miles south of Tucson. The Catholic church was built in 1783. You can read about the Mission here. While I shot this photograph on color slide film, I envisioned it in black and white because I knew that the white building against the cloud-streaked deep-blue sky could yield dramatic results. The version shown here was produced in Photoshop by emphasizing the Red color channel, essentially the same concept as adding a deep red filter in front of B+W film.
