This is a good example of the photographer's adage that "the best lens for the job is the one you have". Had I a long (500-600mm) lens, I'd have brought it out and made a less interesting picture than this one which gives a real sense of place. Fortunately, the longest I had was 300mm, and I was able to snap an effective "environmental portrait".-I simply stretched a piece of burlap between two lightstands. The branch was placed near the feeder for the birds to perch prior to feeding. Fill-flash completed the shot.
