Vigorously lit by reflected light, Thor's Hammer is the prominent monolith in the foreground. It is one of the more photographed features in Bryce, but is often published from a much lower perspective against the sky. My hope was to produce a more interesting image by taking advantage of the varying intensities of reflected light bouncing around the amphitheatre. I chose my shooting angle so that Thor's Hammer was placed against the darker wall, and added some more depth to the photo by including the multicolored hoodoos and trees in the background.
