I became enamoured with this lone sentinel in the Queen's Garden section of Bryce Amphitheatre, and the trail winding up towards it. For the photograph, I situated myself high enough to include the undulating painted hills and the meandering trail to help guide the viewer into the frame. Interestingly, this monolith has no formal name, but seeing as it is so prominent, and sits seemingly in wait in the shadow of the Queen, I've un-officially dubbed it "The Knave".
