I recorded this street scene without realizing the color of the street lighting on film. Our vision is so quick to adjust that our brains don't allow us to notice the color casts of artificial light sources. My primary goal was to keep the shutter open long enough to record light trails from passing cars, and to use a telephoto lens to compress the scene. The resultant image is rather surreal, but is an otherwise natural rendering of after-dark street life in gay Paris.
