The irony behind this shot is that I spent a half a day at the Louvre, and never went inside. This is a testament to my interest in exterior architecture and the freedom of the outdoors more than anything else. I guess this is just one of the challenges of spending only a few days in a place like Paris. However, I often find it difficult to get excited about a lengthy visit to a museum, though I'm usually quite satisfied once I'm in. The sculpture here of course was designed by the infamous I.M.Pei, and I think stands in beautiful contrast to the glory of the historic museum. This image was made around sunset.
