It makes me crazy that I can't remember the name of this street (nor resolve the lettering on the street sign!). Furthermore, I'm not sure which building is seen in the background haze, though I suspect it' the Pantheon, which is visible from most places in the Latin Quarter. I chose a telephoto lens for this image to compress the curving street and the ominous dome, thereby adding drama. Use of the telephoto lens also minimizes the convergence effect that makes buildings look like they're falling over.
