Avignon TVG Terminal
Avignon France

The high-speed access from Paris to Provence via TVG train is really convenient. However, the brand new terminal in Avignon was opened several months too soon. The day we arrived, the only amenity was a lone water cooler. There was no phone so we had to borrow a cell phone from a very helpful TGV aide. Also, there was no place to exchange money, and even the sidewalks had not been paved! By the time we left five days later, they had opened a makeshift newstand and coffee counter from which they were dispensing (selling) horrible instant coffee in dixie cups. Only one bathroom was open, for which they were charging a five francs. All this said, it is still a very worthwhile train ride from Paris, and the architecture of the new terminal is pretty cool.
