Arc de Triomphe
Paris, France

I found this monument to Napolean' armies most impressive at night. While I'd have preferred to arrive here at twilight (so as to include a blue sky instead of total darkness), I was busy shooting the Eiffel Tower at that time, and Lord knows, I can't be in two places at once! Such is one of the limitations of shooting travel stock photography. I chose to shoot up close with a wide angle lens to reflect the imposing stature of the arch. Also, I included the barren trees and benches to yield a sense of time and place.
