An interior courtyard view of the Abbey. Shot in color, I transformed this image into black and white. I will often do this for drama if I think color detracts from the image and that all useful information can be conveyed in terms of shadow and highlight. The blue sky is rendered almost black because I used the "red channel" in photoshop which includes almost no blue pixels (blue is red' opposite in the color world). This is essentially the same as using a deep red (No. 25) filter over the lens when shooting B+W film.
